Tri-Lakes TCRC is offering a FREE mini seminar- Protecting yourself from Identity Theft

According to the Federal Trade Commission, “Identity theft is a serious crime. It occurs when your personal information is stolen and used without your knowledge to commit fraud or other crimes. Identity theft can cost you time and money. It can destroy your credit and ruin your good name.”

In this one hour seminar, which includes handouts from the Federal Trade Commission, you will learn how to:

DETECT suspicious activity by routinely monitoring your financial accounts and billing statements;
DETER identity thieves by safeguarding your information; and
DEFEND against ID theft as soon as you suspect it.

We are providing this mini seminar at no charge as an opportunity to offer critical information to the community that will educate and assist our citizens to possibly avoid identity theft.

Seating is limited, so pre-registration is required. Handouts and refreshments are included. Please call the Tri-Lakes TCRC at 417-272-8707 for more information or to register. United States Census 2010

It’s important, easy, confidential, and required by law. Census data affects the federal and state funding we receive; it determines the seats Missouri gets in the U.S. House of Representatives and is used to redistrict state legislatures. Your responses are protected by law (Title 13, U.S. Code, Section 9). All Census Bureau employees have taken an oath to protect confidentiality and are subject to a jail term, a fine – or both – for disclosing any information that could identify a respondent or household. Visit the Census 2010 website for more information at: http://2010.census.gov/2010census/, Tri-Lakes TCRC is partnering with the U.S. Census! Events will be posted here, added in our monthly class and event emails and sent out in press releases as they become available.Filling out the census form is easy and helps us all- thank you for doing your part.
